My approach is simple: a growth mindset backed with a co-elevation attitude.

My Story

My journey is quite unique and reads more like a back country road filled with interesting turns and unexpected stops.

Like a country road, you are bound to hit some bumps and potholes along the way.

During my “college years” I struggled deeply with a fixed mindset that I did not know I had and couple that with the discovery of 50% hearing loss, I was not as successful as I had hoped to be in my youth.

It wasn’t until I read Mindsets by Carol S. Dweck (twice) that I realized I needed change.

From there, I began working at Austin Regional Clinic in the medical record department. After a couple of years learning from a mentor, I moved to Austin Gastroenterology to re-join that same mentor in order to become the new Team Leader.

For the next 2 years, I built better work flow processes, ease pain points for patient check-in, and prepare the clinic for the integration of a new electronic medical record (EMR) system.

While at Austin Gastro, I began taking night classes for Graphic Design. When the opportunity presented itself to switch careers I made the risky leap to cut my pay significantly, work without benefits, and get my creative career started.

As a graphic designer, I spent time working in a small print shop setting up various print media files, art, and operating various printers including 60-inch wide large format printers. After several years of freelance work, I found an opportunity to apply for a graphic design position at FloSports but it took an unexpected turn from graphic design to content creation and the birth of a new marching arts channel: FloMarching

I was the senior editor when overseeing all of the content and subsequent team members responsible for FloMarching.com it’s initial launch in August 2016 until October 2018. That is when I was promoted into the role of Partner Success Management.

As a Partner Success Manager (PSM), my role was essentially to act as the liaison between the rights holders and FloSports. This included managing over 15+ accounts at a time from different sports such as marching, bowling, rodeo, dance, etc.

Trust Matters

Trust is one of the most valuable characteristics in my professional and personal life. This is something I came across a couple of years ago that easily illustrates why trust is so valuable and why it matters to me so much. I try to build trust with everyone I work with. Trust is that comfort blanket that makes you feel good when things are going well and that shield when things are tough.
